Flyers' Primeau breaks thumb
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Philadelphia captain Keith Primeau broke his right thumb when he was struck by a slap shot in the Flyers' 2-1 victory
Friday over the Florida Panthers.
Primeau will see a hand specialist when the Flyers return to Philadelphia
after a game at Tampa Bay on Saturday. It was not yet determined how long the centre will be out.
``Hopefully, it's just a fracture,'' Primeau said. ``My big worry is I just
don't want to be out of the lineup two, three, four weeks.''
The Flyers were killing a penalty late in the first period when Primeau was
hit by a shot by Florida defenceman Jay Bouwmeester. Primeau immediately lowered his right hand and skated off the ice as play continued.
