Philly to help Katrina victims with big fund-raiser

An impressive group of Philadelphia sports figures will get together tomorrow night in a fund-raiser to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"The Day Philly Remembers II" will be held tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. at Chickie's & Pete's on Packer Avenue in South Philadelphia.

The Day Philly Remembers II aims to duplicate the spirit of the remarkable support of the Philadelphia sports community for the original The Day Philly Remembers, following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Among the personalities scheduled to appear are Peter Forsberg, Keith Primeau, Simon Gagne, Eric Desjardins, Robert Esche, Donald Brashear, Ken Hitchcock, Hollis Thomas, Dhani Jones, Reno Mahe, Randy Wolf, Hugh Douglas, Keith Jones, Bernie Parent, Phil Martelli, Fran Dunphy, John Chaney and many more.

One-hundred percent of the funds raised from this event will be used to directly aid displaced victims.

Cost to attend The Day Philly Remembers II is $75 per person and tickets can be purchased at the event. For more information on the event, or to sponsor or make a gift, call Chickie's & Pete's at 215-218-0500.
